Studying the Bible and Prayer is one of the most valuable tools you will ever have to be in a close relationship with your Creator. Spend this week to Celebrate Him.

We must live our lives close to God. The greater the portion of your day and your life spent with God through, in silence, in reflection, in prayer, in study, in planning, and in preparation, the greater will be the effectiveness, the impact, and the power on the part of your life that can be seen. So if you think about it – what kind of transformation will take place in your heart if you spend time every day being close to God.

I have come to spend quality time with God in my favorite corner and chair with my cup of coffee, Bible and journal. I make an appointment with Him early in the morning before I start my day, yes sometimes during event days or early meetings scheduled the day will start too early and hectic, then I will make time at night when everyone is asleep and there is no distractions.

I don't know about you but second to my Bible, my journal has become very important, it helps me focus, to gather my thoughts and make notes of what I learn that day. It is a reminder to see God's goodness, miracles, wisdom and grace He has given me. It gives me pause to Celebrate Him.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 : “All Scriptures is God breathed and is useful for teaching, buking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that he man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Let's look at  Martha and Mary – Mary, a woman after God's heart, made the choice that showed a heart full of devotion: she knew it was important to become quiet, to stop all activities and set aside secondary things in order to focus entirely on the Lord. Unlike her sister, who was so busy doing things for the Lord that she failed to spend time with Him, Mary placed worship at the top of her to-do list. Mary chose that one thing that was necessary: she chose to make time to worship God. She learned that nothing can take the place of time in God's presence. Luke 10: 38-42:

Time spent listening to and worshiping God can never be taken away from you. Proverbs 3: 6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Because you ask Him for guidance and want to do things His way and not your way, He lets us walk the right path. He teaches us and instructs us about the path we should walk. He shows us what to do, how to act and what to say.

We must get everything we need from God to live an abundant life.

Ephesians 6:18: Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

So by spending time in God’s word and in prayer we make God first priority in our lives, we build our relationship with God that lead’s to Personal Growth.

Prayer increases faith, we unload burdens through prayer, and prayer teaches us that God is always near. Prayer teaches us not to panic. Prayer changes our thoughts.

If you want to change your life, you must first change how you think – your perception of God, of yourself, of other people, of life, of food, of health and of all other things. Change always starts with new thinking. We need to change our thinking patterns. You have control over two important factors in your life, you control your reactions, and you control the extent to which you are going to trust God – regardless of your circumstances.

God wants us to have the same moral qualities as Him: love, compassion, goodness, justice and integrity. He wants us to develop the attitude of Christ, which is more important than our appearance, our accomplishments or our possessions in this life. So only if we know Him, can we become like Him.

When we spend time with God, it encourages someone else . Another beautiful benefit is that when we choose to spend time with God, others notice. Someone is depending on you – on your example of perseverance – to help them run their race. They draw encouragement from the way you Celebrate God and keep going after your time with God. They are watching.

There are 10 simple ways we can celebrate God:

  1. Acknowledge Him. In the big and in the small.
  2. Spread His message. We don’t have to be preachy. We just need to be real.
  3.  Praise Him. Publicly and privately. Simply for who He is!
  4.  Pray. He’s not looking for eloquence. He wants to hear our heart.
  5. Pay it forward. Generosity toward others is the same state of grace that God extends to us.
  6.  Study His word. It honors Him.
  7.  Show gratitude. Thankfulness is a predetermined mindset.
  8.  Count our blessings. Once we start, it becomes habit.
  9.  Visualize Heaven. Think about what His Son has prepared for us. Indeed, a cause to celebrate!
  10.  Make a joyful noise. Sing! Our vocal range doesn’t matter. It’s the intent.

One of the best gifts we can give ourselves is Time spent with God!

Enjoy your time with God and Celebrate Him for what He has done for you on the Cross.

With Love

Liesel
