I come to you today with a grateful heart Lord, for giving me the opportunity to be a Mother.
Thank you for a truly remarkable gift and a privilege that I hold very close to my heart - my children.
Thank you for all the wisdom and guidance you provide me daily for every circumstance.
Thank you for every moment with my children.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience the magic of birth, twice!
Thank you for them Waking up in the morning hours so that I can feed them, clean them, talk to them and hug them.
Thank you for those precious moments of the first word, the first step, the first school day.
Thank you for being able to drive my kids to school every day and picking them up from school. Thank you for being able to share in their excitement of what they learned in school or for the great day they had or being the listening ear when things did not go so good.
Thank you for being able to go fight for them at school when they are being bullied or misunderstood.
Thank you for being able to take my kids to their various activities to give them opportunity to discover what they like and don't and being supportive no matter what. To help them discover their passion. To help them build the necessary skills to become what they are meant to be. Thank you for making me realize it is MY responsibility to give my children the tools they need to live a happy and meaningful life. To empower them with a skill set that would allow them to create independent careers and avoid the glass ceiling…they are on their way with confidence and the sky is the limit.
Thank you that you have given me the opportunity to see the profound value in learning about who my children are, and then encouraging and teaching them to be the best versions of themselves.
Thank you for making me fearless, a positive role model, to be a continuous cheerleader for every milestone my children experience and will experience in the future, to demonstrate the abundance of unconditional love that has no end and to cherish the countless memories that is truly priceless.
Thank you for teaching me that being a mother means being completely and totally overwhelmed (in the best possible way) by love, joy, responsibility, and selflessness. By sleepless nights, big belly laughs, caterpillars on the coffee table, finger-painting in the kitchen (and furniture!), stubbed toes, and gaped toothed grins.
Thank you for making my life more colorful than I ever knew it could be. I learned being a mom means I have two little people who walk around with my heart and soul in the palms of their sweet, smudgy hands.
Thank you for getting to see all the possibility in the world through my children’s eyes, and also wanting to be the kindest and most generous version of myself, so that my children can look up to me. Experiencing on a day to day level, that being a mother means being tired, sometimes grumpy and never left alone, and then, in one funny, loving or meaningful moment with my kids, realizing that it’s all completely worth it.
Thank you that I could give my children the emotional support. Be the mom they can snuggle with at night, run to when they’re hurt, and stand behind in scary situations.
Thank you that I could realize that sacrificing my body, my time, my finances, my sleep, and my mental health to raise my kids will be worth it in the end, because life isn’t about me anymore. I just pray and hope my kids survive my weaknesses, understand that I am not perfect, but realize I love them more than anything.
Lord, thank you for creating this special day for us, where husbands and children can take a moment to stand still in their busy lives and be reminded what a special person they have in their lives. To use this day to show this special person in their lives that they are appreciated, that they are seen for what they do, they are cherished for what they give and are loved by the most important people in her life - her children (and husband).
Lord thank you that I can thank my mom today for all she has done for me over the years. To let her know she is appreciated, cherished and loved by me today.... her child!
With lots of Love
Liesel
